Micro Corrugated Box

A corrugated board is a multi-layered cardboard material consisting of one or more corrugated papers combined with one or more liner papers.

Production Process of Corrugated Board

A corrugating machine (Ondülez) bonds these layers together to form corrugated board. During production:

  1. Corrugated paper is exposed to 180°C steam on the corrugator.
  2. It is then passed through corrugating rollers under a pressure of 10-40 kg/cm², forming a sinusoidal wave shape. This process creates peaks and valleys in the paper.
  3. Liner papers are then adhered to either the top side or both the top and bottom of the corrugated paper, completing the corrugated board structure.

The corrugation acts as the spine of the material, resembling columns when viewed vertically and arches when viewed horizontally. Corrugation waves, known as flutes, are classified based on their height, length, and number per meter.
